About
The Kalakaar Project is a social initiative that seeks to provide accessibility to creative arts education for disabled persons in order to promote welfare and emotional well-being. Following a multi-step model, the initiative seeks to empower children with special needs and assist them realize their full potential by utilizing resource material such as curriculums, art spaces, and guidance.
In order to further the aims of the project, I have created the Kalakaar Training Curriculum based on facilitating interactive and engaging sessions for the differently abled youth. Each module includes exercises from many creative arts such as music, dance, theater, sculpture, and creative writing.
Then, utilizing the Training Curriculum, I will deliver Kalakaar Workshops for children at the Ujaala NGO, where I will teach them how to use various art forms for expression of self through creative means. I will raise funds to create Kalakaar Kits, which are creativity boxes that include all of the supplies needed to participate in creative activities, as well as a little Activity Book. These kits will then be donated to underserved communities in Delhi. Scaling the project, I will also facilitate the installation of the Kalakaar Studio, a dedicated resource area for students at Ujjala to access items for arts-based learning, such as braille typewriters, paper, polymer clay, blocks, dolls, puppets, and a radio, in collaboration with Ujjala NGO.
